The past two months have been SO BUSY with preparations for the Art Star Craft Bazaar in Philly. And now that it’s only 3 days away (I can’t believe it!), I’m so extremely excited for it. I have no idea what to expect which makes me nervous and excited and happy all at the same time.

Just a quick update: my clutches are now available in my Etsy shop. More colorways to come in the next week.
I’m linking up to Gussy Sews today and her Inspiration Workshop. This week’s inspiration is accessories! I love accessories but don’t often go the extra mile to actually wear them. And some I’ve put on hold, in terms of jewelry, because one particular baby likes to pull my glasses off my face. I don’t even want to think what he might do if I have a pair of dangly earrings on. Shudder…
One of my most favorite accessories is my engagement ring. It’s simple and understated and classic. This ring will never go out of style. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I stopped wearing it because of all of the extra water weight. It was uncomfortable to wear. I didn’t go to wear it until Caleb was around 4 or 5 months old. It fit but I scratched his cheek with it by accident one time and decided I’d wait to start wearing it again. At least until he doesn’t need to be carried around so much (ie. everywhere). I imagine I’ll be able to wear it again soon as he’s already got crawling down and it’s looking like walking is of interest.
I also LOVE a good boot. LOVE! I have two pairs of boots that I alternate wearing throughout the Fall and Winter but if I had to choose, I’d go with these lovely hunter green ones. I love the buckle details, the shape, the soft malleable look of the leather. They’ve got a little more personality than your average boot, I think. I remember when I was first thinking about purchasing them, I looked them over a million times. I kept thinking, “Are these practical? Am I really going to wear them?” But they only cost me $7 at Anthropologie (I know! Can you believe it?!) so I figured I’d be a fool if I didn’t get them. And the funny thing is, I wore them so much. They’re a lot more versatile than I thought they’d be. I’m so excited to be wearing them again this Fall!
A really good lip balm is another favorite accessory of mine. I’m loving this tinted Burt’s Bees lip balm. I have major issues with chapped lips when the weather changes. Nothing ever seems to get them smooth enough or hydrate them enough. And even though my lips are still getting chapped, this lip balm seems to be performing the best these days. And the color is great! It’s like your natural lip color but better.
A really good bag, or wallet, is another favorite of mine. Right now I’m loving my little clutches. Perfect for holding my phone, keys, lip balm, and cards. I don’t like to feel bogged down with heavy bags, which I often do because my “purse” these days is a diaper bag. It’s nice when I can run out really quickly on my own and just take a clutch with me. I can’t tell you how freeing it feels when, every other time, I’ve got a HUUUUUGE bag filled with diapers, wipes, toys, extra clothes, my wallet, etc.
Last but certainly never least, one of my favorite accessories are these guys. The little dude is keeping me on my toes these days now that he’s zipping all over the place. And that’s just with crawling. I don’t know what to expect when he starts walking! His personality develops more and more every day and he’s always got me smiling and laughing. He’s such a funny little guy. Love him! And I’m so lucky and blessed to have married my best friend. We’ve been through so much together. I know I can get crazy sometimes and Steve still puts up with me. That’s true love, right there. Love you babe! 😉
Here’s a little peek at something I’ve been working on.
This is a smaller bag that I’ve been working on. I like how versatile it is. And I LOVE the interior fabric. I got it on the one and only trip I was ever able to take to Purl Soho in New York. I got a yard of it and, let me tell you, I treat it like gold.
I was thinking this purse could be used as a makeup bag to throw into your purse, a large wallet to keep things like your debit cards/cash/license/etc., or could even be used on its own as a small purse if you don’t feel like lugging a big one around. It’s long enough to fit your keys, phone, money, lip balm, and more in it. All at the same time. I don’t have it listed in my Etsy shop yet but should soon. I’m also in the process of putting some other color combinations together. I made them to compliment my other larger purses. The design of this clutch is actually based off of a bag I’ve completed the design for but haven’t made a final piece yet (waiting for my fabric to come in…and it should be here Friday! Yippee!). Within the next week, my shop should have a few more designs to choose from. It’s about time! So far, I have the design of this clutch finalized along with two tote bags. Just waiting on my materials! And I’m so excited (can you tell?) and can’t wait to share.
